Donations to Tenshinryu

Traditional martial arts received significant support from the government, feudal domains, and influential individuals during the Edo period due to their public and practical importance.

However, in modern times, much of this support has disappeared. Many styles now rely solely on the membership fees of a small number of students to sustain themselves.

As a result, many styles have lost access to practice spaces, and they lack the funds, time, and resources for promotion. Instructors are forced to work regular jobs, leaving little time for practice or teaching. This has led to a decline in the number of students, fewer training opportunities, and a general decrease in skill levels. Ultimately, many styles have either fallen into decline or have become extinct.

Tenshinryu has also struggled with dire financial conditions for a long time. Tenshin Sensei and Kuwami Sensei invested significant personal funds to keep the style alive.

Recently, the situation has slightly improved thanks to an increase in students, revenue from TENSHINRYU ONLINE, and monetization of social media platforms. However, these funds are barely enough to sustain operations, and growth or development remains impossible.

TENSHINRYU ‘s activities require a lot of funds.
This fund will be various expenses such as purchase of equipment and facility fee.
We need your cooperation to protect the tradition and to communicate the tradition widely.
(For example, Building a dojo, DVD production and book publication, Development of training tools.)
We would appreciate it if you could support and cooperate with us.
