Tenshin-ryu Hyoho
A comprehensive martial system rooted in the early Edo period, said to have been founded by Tokizawa Yahei, who served Yagyu Munenori.
It is a comprehensive martial system said to have been practiced by the Shirindan — a covert organization of samurai — and features techniques such as battōjutsu (sword-drawing), among others.

Tenshin-ryu Hyoho was founded approximately 400 years ago by Tokizawa Yahei, who studied Shinkage-ryu under Yagyū Munenori.
Our organization is the only group in Japan that preserves and teaches this style in an unbroken line.
The style transmits a wide range of martial arts including battōjutsu (sword-drawing techniques), kenjutsu (swordsmanship), and yawara (jyūjyutsu).
It is currently led by the 9th Grandmaster, Nakamura Tenshin; the 10th Grandmaster, Kuwami Masakumo; and the 11th Grandmaster, Ide Ryusetsu.
